Centaurus Metals achieves Key Milestone for Candonga DSO Project

Centaurus Metals (ASX Code: CTM) has achieved an important milestone in the permitting process for its Candonga DSO Project in south-east Brazil, with the Final Exploration Report for the tenement that covers the project approved by the Brazilian Department of Mines (DNPM). The company expects to receive the Trial Mining Licence for initial 300000 tpa in the first quarter of 2015 ans plans to lodge the full Mining Licence application in December 2014 to cover future expansion of mining operations.

Schade delivers Circular Spreader to Ciplan Cimento Plant in Brazil

Five years after the delivery of a first bridge scraper for the cement plant at Sobradinho, Schade was able to carry out another contract by the Brazilian cement producer Ciplan Cimento Planalto S/A: Schade delivers a circular column equipped spreader with a flow rate of 1800 t/h (max 2000 t/h) and a 23 m beam as well as a belt width of 1400 mm.

Tenova Mining & Minerals South Africa, the South African market focused operating arm of the Tenova Mining & Minerals Group, has been nominated to carry out a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for London Stock Exchange-listed Baobab Resources. The Definitive Feasibility Study will be done on Baobab Resources’ pig iron and ferro-vanadium project in Mozambique’s Tete region.

Solvay has launched the production of torrefied biomass at an industrial scale in the United States. The business will be run by the recently created Solvay Biomass Energy joint venture between Solvay and U.S. company New Biomass Energy (NBE). Torrefied biomass, which handles and burns similarly to coal, is produced through torrefaction, a process that modifies the chemical properties of waste wood and biomass.
