Rema Tip Top acquired Australian Conveyor Maintenance Company

Rema Tip Top AG, a globally operating system provider of services and products in the field of conveying and treatment technology as well as in the automotive sector, has acquired a majority interest in the Australian company ConvaTech. Together, Rema Tip Top and ConvaTech will form one of the largest conveyor service organisations on the resource-rich continent, the company says.

New USD 10.2 million Bulk Handling Facility at the Port of Liverpool

Newport Industries is set to invest GBP 7 million (approx. USD 10.2 million) in the creation of a new bulk handling facility at the Port of Liverpool, to service increased demand from its North West customer base. The facility at Canada Branch Dock will allow the global firm — which specialises in importing dry bulk chemicals to the glass, adhesive, detergents, chemicals and feed industries — to meet increasing demand.

On January 13, 2016, Monsanto Company announced plans to begin construction of a new, state-of-the-art cotton seed processing facility in Lubbock (TX), USA. In cooperation with the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA), construction of the new facility is expected to begin in March 2016 and be completed in the second half of calendar year 2017.

Sixth Siwertell Continuous Ship Unloader for Mai-Liao Power Plant

Siwertell will deliver a ST 940 DOB-type continuous ship unloader with a rated coal unloading capacity of 2000 t/h for the Mai-Liao power plant in Taiwan.

Siwertell, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract to supply a sixth continuous ship unloader for the Mai-Liao power plant in Taiwan. Five large Siwertell unloaders are currently in operation supplying coal to the 4200 MW facility, the third largest in the country. Three of the unloaders were delivered in 2001 and two in 2006. This latest order was booked in Cargotec's 2015 third quarter order intake.

FLSmidth wins five-year Maintenance Contract in Chile

The order covers supply of maintenance services of three production lines of the concentrator plant as well as of the tailings and pipeline areas.

FLSmidth has signed a five-year maintenance contract with the Chilean copper producer Minera Doña Ines de Collahuasi for the supply of maintenance services for their copper plant in Chile. The plant is located in the Andes mountains, 3500 to 4000 meters above sea level, close to the Chilean-Bolivian border. The plant has a capacity of more than 140.000 tonnes of processed rock per day.

Joint Venture established for billion-dollar Fertilizer-Complex in Tanzania

The new plant will produce 1.3 million t of fertilizer per year and will provide 5000 direct and indirect jobs.

Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation has entered into a joint venture to realize the first fertilizer plant in Tanzania with a consortium of Ferrostaal Industrial Projects GmbH, Haldor Topsoe A/S and Fauji Fertilizer Company Ltd. The fertilizer complex will be a high-capacity plant, demanding an investment of more than one billion US dollar. The complex is planned to be operational in 2020, producing 1.3 million tonnes of fertilizer per year.

Ecutec Barcelona S.L. announced that Developed Crushers Co., which is part of the Manaseer Group in Jordan, has chosen Ecutec to build a Calcium Carbonate processing plant in Jordan with a total annual output of 350.000 t of highly technical products. Total investment for the plant, which will be built in Qatrana about one hour south of Amman, is estimated at approx. USD 30 million.
