Siemens supplies the World's biggest gearless Conveyor Drive System

At the the Cuajone Mine in Peru a belt conveyor will replace a railway system currently used to transport the ore out of the mine to the processing plant.

Siemens supplies the world's biggest gearless conveyor drive system to the Cuajone Mine in Peru which is operated by the Mexican mining company Southern Copper Corporation (SCC). The gearless drive technology enables the use of a conveyor belt system with a total installed power of 12,000 KW. Siemens was chosen by ThyssenKrupp to supply the electrical package in mid-2014.

PotashCorp withdraws Proposal to negotiate Transaction with K+S

Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) announced that it has withdrawn its proposal to negotiate a transaction with K+S Aktiengesellschaft (K+S). According to PotashCorp, the private proposal of EUR 41 per share on May 31, 2015 sought to bring together complementary assets that would have enhanced financial resources and allowed the combined company and its stakeholders to benefit from greater diversification across geographies and products.

The Sedgman Civmec joint venture has been awarded a contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and commissioning works at the Jimblebar iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of the northwest of Western Australia. The Engineering Procurement Construction and Commissioning contract is valued at approx. AUD 145 million (approx. USD 103 million), which comprises the installation of a new primary crusher and additional conveyor capacity.

Duro Felguera and the Australian company Ausenco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Canadian firm Royal Nickel Corporation in order to deliver the mining project called Dumont Nickel Project in Quebec, Canada, on a turnkey basis. The Dumont project is one of the few nickel sites in the world and initial investment is estimated at USD 1.07 billion.

Cleveland Vibrator to distribute Uras Rotary Electric Vibrators in US

Japan-based Uras Techno has appointed the Ohio-based Cleveland Vibrator Co. its exclusive distributor of rotary electric vibrators in the United States. The full lines of Uras KEE and SEE rotary electric vibrators are now marketed under the Cleveland Vibrator private label RE and RES lines in the US. These high-performance, continuous-duty vibrators are used to power vibratory equipment such as feeders, conveyors, screeners and tables and also used as flow aids on bins and hoppers.

Cemex and Suez launch new Waste-to-Fuel Facility

At the Cemex Rugby cement plant, United Kingdom, a new facility has been launched which turns waste into high-specification fuel. The new facility will supply the cement plan with a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels for the next 25 years. The Solid Recovered Fuel facility, owned and operated by international recycling and waste management company Suez, will supply the a direct replacement for fossil fuel, manufactured using nothing but regionally-sourced rubbish.

ThyssenKrupp supplies Crushing and Overland Conveying System to Peru

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, the engineering and construction specialist within the ThyssenKrupp Group, has won a contract from the Southern Peru Copper Corporation to supply a primary crushing and overland conveying system. The new system will be installed at the Cuajone copper mine in Peru, which has been in operation since 1976, to transport ore from the open pit mine to the concentrator.
