The technologies and machines presented by exhibiting companies from Austria, the Czech Republic Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, The Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia and Sweden generated great interest among the visitors. "Our participation at SOLIDS Russia exceeded our expectations," said Michael Hengl, Managing Director Europe for Martin Engineering GmbH. "We were pleasantly surprised by the very positive reception on the part of the public. The intense, technical exchanges we had with the visitors to our stand promise of future business dealings."

Taking place alongside the exhibition was a conference on the transport and storage of solid goods, as well as the first Russian Fire and Explosion Protection Congress. The Congress featured 40 expert lectures on the latest technologies and best practices in the handling, transportation and storage of solids, powders and granules, as well as for industrial fire and explosion prevention.

"We’re especially delighted that high-level representatives from the leading Russian chemical plants, mining operations, manufacturers of construction materials, plastics producers and the food and drinks industry made their way from all across Russia to St Petersburg," said Maria Soloveva, Project Manager for SOLIDS Russia at Easyfairs.

The first day culminated in a gala dinner held in the 'Rose Pavilion' of the Pavlovsk Castle park, a historical site and now a state museum.

"We can be quite pleased with the first Solids show in Russia," summed up Daniel Eisele, Group Event Director for the international Solids shows at Easyfairs. "The feedback regarding the quality of the discussions demonstrates that we – as an international organiser of solids shows – were indeed able to apply our experience and industry know-how appropriately to the Russian market."

The next edition, SOLIDS Russia 2016, will take place in the coming year on 18 & 19 May in the Expoforum St Petersburg.
