Premier Tech invests CAD 7 Million to expand one of its Plants

To support the steady growth of its Industrial Equipment Group, Premier Tech will inject CAD 7 million into expanding one of the plants at its Campus in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada. That investment is required due to the great demand for its automated packaging systems manufactured in Rivière-du-Loup and exported primarily to the Americas.

Rivière-du-Loup (QC), Canada – Starting in March 2017, the work for adding 2300 m2 to one of the two Industrial Equipment Group plants in Rivière-du-Loup will get under way. The expansion will include an area dedicated to final assembly and start-up of the automated packaging systems designed by Premier Tech’s engineering teams, as well as an isolated area dedicated to stainless steel work. The latter aspect is necessary with the considerable increase in sales in the food industry that the Group has been experiencing for several years.

Over the next three years, nearly 30 new team members will join the roughly 60 already at this plant, the surface area of which will then reach nearly 7000 m2.

“This expansion is a major step for our Industrial Equipment Group teams,” states Jean Bélanger, President and CEO of Premier Tech. “It demonstrates the extent of our teams’ skills. Our clients, regardless of where they are from, don’t hesitate to come to Rivière-du-Loup because they recognize the state-of-the-art nature of our solutions. The growth potential is considerable, and it’s really very encouraging for the entire team.”

This major investment is in addition to the CAD 15 million one, announced earlier this winter, for the expansion of the Campus’s road network and the construction of a three-storey office building. This will bring Premier Tech’s investments to over CAD 21 million into its Campus over the next year.
