Nautilus Minerals’ Seafloor Production Tools arrive in Papua New

The Collecting Machine,  a large robotic vehicle, will collect the cut material (sand, gravel, silt) by drawing it in as seawater slurry with internal pumps and pushing it through a flexible pipe to the Riser and Lifting System.

Nautilus Minerals Inc. announced that the Company’s Seafloor Production Tools have arrived in Papua New Guinea, and will shortly commence submerged trials. The Seafloor Production Tools – the Auxiliary Cutter, the Bulk Cutter and the Collecting Machine, were designed and built at Soil Machine Dynamic’s facility in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.

Amec FW signs MOU with Encanto and Muskowekwan First Nations

Amec Foster Wheeler announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Muskowekwan Resources Ltd (MRL), a wholly-owned operating company of the Muskowekwan First Nations and Encanto Potash Corp. MRL and Encanto have a joint venture agreement to develop the Muskowekwan Potash Project - the first mining project in Saskatchewan, Canada, on First Nations land.

FLSmidth awarded first Phase of EPC Contract for Gold Mine

Belo Sun Mining Corp. has awarded FLSmidth the first phase of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the Volta Grande gold project located near Altamira in Pará State, Brazil. The contract includes the completion of basic engineering, selection of construction contractors and the execution planning of the process facility.

Amec Foster Wheeler wins FEED Contract for Project in Spain

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract by Berkeley Energia for its uranium processing plant at its Salamanca Project, in western Spain. The scope of work by Amec Foster Wheeler will include engineering and procurement services to determine the capital cost of the front end crushing plant, as well as detailed engineering of the plant in preparation for the construction phase.

Essar Bulk Terminal Hazira Capacity set to expand by 67% to 50 Mt/a

With the latest expansion project, the capacity of EBTL’s Hazira terminal will increase from 30 to 50 Mt/a.
Bulk Terminal Expansion
The 550 m berth of Essar Bulk Terminal Limited (EBTL) in Hazira is being expanded by a further 1100 m to accommodate the steady growth in cargo throughput at the port. With the expansion, the capacity of the Hazira terminal will increase from the existing 30 to 50 Mt/a. Post completion of expansion, the port will have capability of simultaneously handling seven vessels at any point of time.

Outotec Process Equipment for Sangan Iron Project in Iran

Outotec's scope of work includes the design and delivery of thickeners.
Iron Concentrate Production
Outotec has been awarded a contract by Shangdong Province Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd. (SDM) for the delivery of process equipment to the Iron Concentrate Project Sangan in North-Eastern Iran. The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) owns the Sangan mines and SDM is their engineering partner. The contract value is approx. EUR 10 million.
